Best LED Downlights Review

1. Halers H2 Pro (officially EvoLED) (Launched 2010)
The Halers EvoLED does for the LED downlight industry what Iphone does for the Smartphone industry - it puts it on the map and makes everyone want one. It has been undergoing many changes over the years, especially its name and branding that I consider right from the beginning.

The Halers network is now under the brand name of Collingwood that is silently behind Halers from the beginning. The brand and company Halers have been incorporated solely to promote the EvoLED brand as someone at Collingwood has a clever vision and confidence that it will achieve a very high demand and think it requires a dedicated sales force team to promote it.

If rumors are accurate, EvoLED reaches sales of 8 million in the first year! Amazing for just one light down. Although there are some failure problems in the early days, H2 Pro is the number one in my list.

Hence both fire rated and IP65 as this standard means it can be used anywhere, from the bathroom to the living room or even commercially available. You can finally customize the underground light completely in the bathroom as you do in the living room.

With a choice of 6 options to choose from, the choice is dimmable and should not be humiliated and the white choice of white 3000K or neutral white 4000K leads to logistics nightmares for stockists. The stock is difficult because there are many variations. Common sense eventually occurs when H2 Pro is re-launched to be dimmable as standard and has bezels that can change. Well done Collingwood!

The recent Pro H2 (2015) is upgraded once again and is now known as H2 Pro 550. This new version has a touch on the bezel and is more compact with only 56mm depth.

2. Aurora M10 DOB (Launched 2013)

After Aurora previously investigated the integrated LED downlight market with I9, they returned to the drawing board and found a way to make it better but more importantly reliable. By analyzing the unreliable key failure of I9, they find that the weakest component of this mounting style is the capacitor.

The capacitor is located on the LED drive and is used to convert the supply voltage (240V) into low voltage which requires LED. Raffles worked and found out how to use a high voltage (HV) LED chip that can operate at 240V, reducing the need for capacitors and making the lights below reliable and cost-effective.

The M10 finally gave birth to the small version itself; M5 and M7 that can be used in combination or as a standalone product for areas that do not require a 50W halogen equivalent 550 lumen.

3. EcoLED ZEP1 (Launched in 2010)

Originally, EcoLED ZEP1 was the most reliable LED downlight that we sold with a failure rate of less than 1%. At this time it has never been heard in this luminaire style. In recent years, failure rates have increased mainly due to component issues with LED drivers.

In 2014 to 2015 EcoLED introduces a brighter and more compact new model and proves to be able to return to its original 2010/2011 origin. Provide more, bright and reliable options.

ZEP1 is a fire rated as standard and is available in a choice of three color temperature; extra white warm 2700K, warm 3000K white and 4000K cold white. The additional warm white version is still quite rare with integrated LED headlights. Anyone who has ever installed this product always has great things to say.

This underfund sales feature is the diffused glass front end. It hides a tasty LED chip and combines easily into the ceiling space. This will be my personal choice for the LED downlight as it looks great not only when it works but also when it does not.

ZEP1 contains a high output of COB (chip on board) of Bridgelux LED chips which enables higher lumen efficiency to reach up to 76 lumens per watt. Many other brands have or are now adopting this chip style. Philips's leading LED headlamps even incorporate it.

4. Q-Lite (now Orluna QUAD50) (Launched in 2011)

Q-Lite can be one of the main competitors and may take the 'Downlight LED' mantle but not ready to compete at this level. Instead of holding itself back for the only market specification under the Orluna Lamp brand. The sales strategy is to achieve lower sales volume and maintain its exclusive in the market. This is totally against most of the other players in this list who want to achieve the highest number of sales. Best LED Downlights Review
